Süleyman ŞENSOY Chairman of TASAM |
SÜLEYMAN ŞENSOY; OSCE AND CICA TERM PRESIDENCIES PROVIDE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES THAT WE SHALL NOT MISS
Şensoy stated that Turkey has gradually pulled back its tendencies that were excessively sensitive and far from real-politics after a time when Central Asian Turkish Republics started to declare their independencies, however, it would always maintain its socio-cultural significance and underlined the fact that this tendency has been successfully founded to a real-politic foundation recently, especially with the contributions of Kazakhstan.
The Chairman Şensoy stated that “With the implementation of the motto of TASAM, which is “Turkey’s turning its back to other regions, especially the East, while it aims to proceed in the West does not correspond to its benefits, and on the contrary, a multilateral and multidimensional foreign policy to be followed by Turkey while it follows a route towards the West would get its feet tighter on the ground“ and which we have been sticking to ever since the foundation of TASAM, an even since earlier times, has increased the international efficiency and significance of our country. Kazakhstan has also been following a multidimensional and multilateral policy like Turkey. The biggest proof of Kazakhstan’s being headed towards Europe as much as Asia is that it will undertake the 2010 AGIT term presidency. Both the 2010 OSCE term presidency of Kazakhstan and Turkey’s “Cooperation in the Asia and Security Increasing Precautions Conference (CICA/AIGK)“ term presidency, which will be undertaken in 2010 for two years, are great opportunities that will get Asia and Europe closer in many ways and that shall not be missed“.
