“Turkey - EU Thought Ecosystem Network Program”

In the regard of the cooperation opportunities, e.g. Turkey and specifically EU generally all European countries will be able to develop the multilateral regional (Africa, Balkans, Black Sea, Caucasians, the Middle East, the Middle Asia) policies and to maintain the joint projects together.

As TASAM, we have been planning to create a network, which brings the think-tanks and opinion leaders together under the main theme of “New World, New Europe and Turkey“ with the name of Turkey - EU Thought Ecosystem. Besides, within this framework, we have been suggesting to actualize a series of bilateral and multilateral activities regularly in Turkey and some European countries and to form a platform.

The historical and beautiful city of Istanbul has long been known as the bridge connecting the West and the East, and I hope that the current event will help to better understanding the two sides of the Bosporus Strait in order to reach a prosperous and developed region. ;

The theme of this conference; Post-security dilemmas, Integrations, Models and Asia is indeed appropriate considering the contemporary times that we live in because the threats to the national security of our respective nation-states has more than tripled thus posing complex security dilemmas.;

On 1 August 1975 the participating States to the Conference for Security and Co-operation in Europe (CSCE) adopted the Final Act of Helsinki. This Act, a political document which was not meant to be legally binding, contained the basic principles for East-West dialogue and coexistence.;

This is the eighth event of Istanbul Security Conference series and thankfully it continued without interruption even during the pandemic. Istanbul plays well its own role, which fits both its historical backgrounds and Turkey itself, in such meetings, especially that of regional and global security...;
