11th ISTANBUL SECURITY CONFERENCE 2025

The 11th Istanbul Security Conference will be held with global participation on November 27-28, 2025, at Wish More Hotel Istanbul, under the main theme of “Defence, Security and Intelligence Revolution” by the TASAM National Defence and Security Institute. As a limited number of external participants will be accepted, the final application deadline is June 4.

Our world is rapidly evolving into a multi-layered universe of "security and defence" under the influence of swiftly advancing technologies and profound sociopolitical transformations. This transformation is reshaping not only military and technological capacities but also societal and ethical values, national institutions, and global cooperation mechanisms. The “Defence, Security and Intelligence Revolution" precisely refers to this multidimensional paradigm shift.
Lately, all eyes were on South Asia, however it is still important for the business community in Turkiye and around the World, to follow the developments in South Asia and the Indian Ocean region, due to the importance for global trade and supply chains, as well as connectivity projects. Furthermore, India’s role for Africa and the Global South is an issue to follow closely for the future.
The recent round of negotiations between the United States and China in Geneva, Switzerland, has laid bare the vulnerabilities of the global economy. Despite repeated warnings from experts about an impending recession and the strain on supply chains, former President Trump remained convinced that he could corner China through the art of deal-making.
First and foremost, I extend my heartfelt greetings to all of you and express my gratitude for your participation. It is a great honor to once again be here at the opening of the 10th Istanbul Security Conference, held under the esteemed leadership of our distinguished president, and to deliver one of the opening speeches.
The history of Yugoslavia is a complex process shaped by unification efforts, ethnic tensions and foreign interventions. From the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1918 to the Socialist Federal Yugoslavia established under the leadership of Josip Broz Tito, the country has experienced significant political, social and economic transformations.

Chinese Accounting and Türkiye

Since we will be hearing about China in different ways more frequently in the future, I wanted to share some of my notes and observations to help us get to know China more closely. Although the conclusions here may seem straightforward, they actually include insights I gathered from around 10 round-table meetings I attended at various think tanks, both in the UK and other locations in recent months.
Türkiye is exercising its vocation as an emerging power and is trying to build relationships with Africa. Internationally this was noticeable particularly with Somalia. Turkish Airlines’ scheduled links with Somalia symbolized this connection and was taken as both daring and a sign of commitment even to a troubled African state.
The 8th Turkey - Gulf Defense and Security Forum, held under the main theme “Red Apples for Security Partnership,“ was organized by the TASAM National Defense and Security Institute as a co-event of the 10th Istanbul Security Conference on November 22, 2024, at Wish More Hotel Istanbul. The Forum hosted speakers and protocol participants from various countries and regions, as well as diverse fields and sectors.

6th Marine and Maritime Security Forum I Declaration

The 6th Marine and Maritime Security Forum, under the main theme of “Turkish Maritime Vision 2053,” was organized by TASAM National Defense and Security Institute on November 21, 2024, as a co-event of the 10th Istanbul Security Conference held at Wish More Hotel Istanbul.

7th Türkiye-Africa Defense, Security I Declaration

The 7th Türkiye-Africa Defense, Security, and Space Forum, under the main theme "Africa 2063 Vision Security Partnership", was jointly organized by the TASAM African Institute and the TASAM National Defense and Security Institute. It was conducted as a side event of the 10th Istanbul Security Conference on November 22, 2024, at Wish More Hotel in Istanbul.
The Istanbul Security Conference, organized for the first time in Türkiye in 2015 and held for the tenth time this year, was organized by TASAM National Defense and Security Institute with the main theme of Technopolitical New World: Security of Security was organized by TASAM National Defense and Security Institute with the main theme of "Security of Mind, Generation, Family, Faith and State" on 21-22 November 2024 at Wish More Hotel Istanbul.

Asia Anew Security Forum Asia Declaration

With the main theme of "New Technopolitics and Security Partnership", Asia Anew Security Forum was co- organized by TASAM National Defense and Security Institute as a co-event of the 10th Istanbul Security Conference held on 21-22 November 2024 at Wish More Hotel Istanbul.

The Iran Nuclear Deal and Ambition

We have reviewed existing articles on the tense relations between Iran and the United States from the past to the present, their reflections in the international sphere, and how a new formation like the JCPOA should be in the Middle East. Iran's insistence on continuation of the nuclear program caused by national identity and security concerns to protect its regional interests, continues despite creating tensions with the West.

Iran West Nuclear Confrontation and Zero Days

After the Revolution another significant incident was the 9/11 between west and the east, mostly the Middle East which was tried to dominate by Iran. The turning point that tense the relations was the invasion of Iraq. The conflict has grown since the west put troops on the Iranian border in Afghanistan.

Geopolitical Problems of NATO Members in the Arctic

With the acceptance of climate change as a security threat, more than one security risk may emerge in the same region. The Arctic is one of the geographical areas where the effects of climate change are most tangible and the security environment is gradually decreasing. Security concerns in the Arctic have resulted in NATO expanding its territory to the Russian border. While Russia perceives this situation as insecurity, it also means the end of NATO’s Northern expansion.

Turkey-Gulf Defense and Security Forum and first time regulated Re-Asia Security Forum (name given for support of Re-Asia initiative of Türkiye), style of workshop behavior in three different halls, led and performed by approximately 100 speakers and 30 moderators.
The agenda of Iran is mostly based on Islamic Revolution and Nuclear Energy issues. Geo-political location can be seen as the root of discomfort by the West. The Persian Gulf which still has a big importance to the United Nations in case of nuclear energy and security. 1 This security analysis aimed at the relationship of Iran and other sides with the contribution of the UN on security and nuclear energy implications on the region.
Women in Africa face severe violence, displacement and economic hardship amid ongoing conflicts and terrorism. The report, published by the U.N. Human Rights Council on Oct. 23, states that more than 10.7 million people have been displaced and 25.6 million Sudanese are at risk of starvation as a result of the conflict in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Response Forces (RSF).

The Iranian Nuclear Programme and Dominant World

The international sphere is shaken by the risk of nuclear power. The ultimate aim of US get rid of that kind of threat. Iranian nuclear power carries the risk of destroying the balance of power that built by colonial powers after World War 2. The possibility of possess the nuclear power by Iran, can change the regional hegemony and security.
